Dental Complications
1. Identify the concern
Read the orthodontist’s Office Visit note to find out which tooth/area need to be examined by the doctor.
*If there are no notes then read the Observations under the patient’s latest scan.
2. Diagnosis and treatment plan
- Have the doctor evaluate the condition and come up with any necessary plan.
- Add a note in the Office Visit of the doctor’s:
- findings
- treatment plan (if any)
- decision to resume, pause or terminate the aligner treatment.
*If the exam is specifically scheduled because the orthodontist is recommending extractions, then explain in the note if the doctor and the patient agree to move forward with the extraction. If they do not agree please explain the reasons.
3. Resume monitoring?
If the doctor decides to resume with the aligner treatment then click on the monitoring “Resume” button and select tomorrow’s date.
*If the doctor decided to pause or terminate the aligner treatment, then no action is needed.
Make sure that you checked all the to-do list and dismiss the patient.
